Post 279: Take Heed to Your Ministry

Welcome back friends.  Everyday I go through a new section of scripture and I journal about it.  I have decided to share it with all of you.  And it is done in an easy format that you can follow along with or even do yourself!

The format is called SOAP, which stands for Scripture, Observations, Application, and Prayer.  Please let me know what you think!

Scripture:

Take Heed to Your Ministry (1 Timothy 4:12-16)

Observations:

If you are young don't give anyone the opportunity to look down on you.  4:12

Be an example in the Spirit by having exceptional love, purity, faith, good behavior, and knowledge of His word.  4:12

We should always devote ourselves to reading, preaching, and teaching the Bible.  4:13

don't forget or stop practicing your gifts from God.  4:14

To grow in our faith we should concentrate on all this and it will be apparent to others.  4:15

Keep your life and teaching in check to keep yourself and those who listen to you safe.  4:16

Application:

We should never let anyone doubt us because of our age, neither Noah nor David did.  We should be an example to everyone through our good behavior, knowledge of the Bible, love, purity, and faith.  We should devote our lives to reading, preaching, and teaching the Bible and never neglect the gifts God has given us.  Concentrating on all of this will help us to grow in faith; and keeping our lives and teachings clean and true will save both us and those who listen to us.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to never accept any excuse as a reason to not keep You as my aim and goal.  Please, strengthen me in love, purity, faith, my behavior, and knowledge of Your word.  Help me to continue to devote my life to reading, teaching, and preaching Your truth.  Help me and guide me in my teachings and how I live my life.

HI Alex. I have sort of written myself off because I am old--75. I should not do that, but I have noticed that about me.

Very good post Alex. I needed it.

Amen and in this day and age I think unscrupulous ministries are going to be shaken out, sifted.

Watch this movie trailer of "The Cross" The Arthur Blessitt Story starting in theaters today 3-27-2009. Tell all of your family, friends, Saved and Unsaved about it. It will challenge the most devout Christian and convict the most sinful of sinners. This is a movie for everyone.
